RISE: Resilient In Sustaining Empowerment
RISE has been serving the Seattle community and beyond since 2020, supporting and uplifting families impacted by gun violence. Following a model of Intervention, Prevention, and Restoration, RISE is a leader in gun control advocacy, grief support, and mental health services.
Founded in 2020 by Lynniah Grayson, RISE has made it its mission to combat the epidemic of gun violence casting its shadow over Seattle. Utilizing healing cohorts, community engagement, and trauma recovery, their work has culminated in the RISE Book Project. Launched in 2023, this groundbreaking program has embraced the opportunity for King County families to develop children and family grief books. These books explore how to navigate the trauma of unexpectedly losing a parent to gun violence.
Franklin Pierce Northwest is proud to serve and support RISE in their mission to heal and prevent gun violence. Through GAAP grants and personal donation, FPNW joins a list of partners including Alliance for Gun Responsibility, Grandmothers Against Gun Violence, Cities United, and Communities Rise. RISE persists through community funding and donations, and we ask that you consider supporting this organization as it continues to protect and steward survivors of violence for generations to come.
